Live at Home was established in 1989 by MHA, a charity providing care homes, housing and support services for older people throughout Britain.

Over 50 Live at Home schemes operate across the UK, enabling older people to maintain their independence and live more fulfilled lives. These services aim to relieve social isolation and encourage older people to take an active part in the communities in which they live.

For just 1 a week, less than the price of a loaf of bread, you will receive:
- a weekly telephone call for general support
- advice and information on local services and benefits
- quarterly newsletters
- regular visits from a befriender
- access to a range of support services

You can choose the services which best suit you. Staff and volunteers will be there to help you with questions and concerns.

Also on offer are: men's Club, Fish & Chip lunches, and film afternoons, and many more activities and events.

Folkestone Live at Home is run by a Community Services Manager and a Co-Ordinator. Our services are provided by our dedicated team of volunteers.

27 Retirement Living Places
Grace Court has become the handiest MHA community for residents who fancy a day trip to France. With the Eurotunnel beginning in Folkestone, the adventurous can be in Calais in just 35 minutes for a little light shopping. Alternatively, Folkestone town centre is close by, the beach is a short walk away, and beyond that lie the beautiful landscapes of Hythe and Romney Marsh.

Grace Court itself comprises 27 one bedroom apartments, eight of them designed for two people, each with its own living room, kitchen and bathroom. Personal needs are catered for by laundry, hairdressing and chiropody facilities, while a communal lounge provides the opportunity for social gatherings and activities. Bingo, whist and film shows, as well as coffee mornings, are regular features of the community activity calendar.

New volunteers are always needed to join our team and help with these activities. Support and training provided and expenses paid.
