St Martinís Church in Cheriton, near Folkestone in Kent, is a charming parish church that can trace its history back to Saxon times when a much smaller church than todayís structure was first built on the site. Much of the church we see today dates from the 13th Century although the main entrance porch has been dated to Saxon times, inside there are many fine examples of the stonemasonsí art with six beautifully carved Bethersden marble columns in the main chancel.
